Sandy + Jason

“Yes, I’ll love with all my heart
From now until death do us part,
And I will love her when we’re rich,
And when we’re broke and in a ditch,
And when we’re fit, and when we’re sick,
(Oh, CAN’
T we get this finished quick?)
And I will love through good and bad,
And I will love when glad or sad,
And I will have, and I will hold,
And if I might now be so bold,
I’ll love her my entire life,
Yes, I WILL take her as my wife!”
Just kidding.
However, the groom and I talked it over and these would’ve been the vows had they found them earlier and had plenty of time to practice.Even without the Dr. Seuss wedding vows, their ceremony was pretty funny. The officiant (make that pretty much everyone there) made sure there was more than one giggle during the ceremony. On a more serious note, I am so honored to have been a part of this special day. Everything from the couple, to the venue, to the weather… and everything in-between was absolutely perfect. Sandy made an absolutely GORGEOUS bride (don’t worry, Jason cleaned up pretty nice too)! Seriously, I don’t think the afternoon could’ve been more perfect had they tried.Ok, it could’ve been 20 degrees warmer… But Sandy and Jason were willing to brave the chilly weather for their pictures, so I can’t complain!

Introducing… my favorite first look to date!

Is she gorgeous, or is she gorgeous? Yep. Thought so.
Oh. My. Stars.
I can hardly handle all of the warm-and-fuzzies I get from this next picture.
After the cake, punch, and bubbles there was some impromptu toasting and dancing that took place. So sweet!
Sandy and Jason, I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to be a part of your gorgeous wedding day. I am so happy for you both and wish you many, many years of happiness! Congratulations!

We are so glad that you picked up that camera!! This was a wonderful wedding and we were glad that you were a part of it.
We have lots of pictures and memories to share over the years.
Jessica, you were a part of this and just seemed to fit right in.
It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope we can have you take pictures for us again. We will highly recommend you too.

Thank you again for these lasting memories….

Julie, you are too sweet! Thank you so very much! I loved every second of it :)

Alex + Joe

I’m not sure how long I had been counting down the days to this wedding. Seriously.

Alex and Joe are such a precious couple and I couldn’t wait to spend their special day with them. I could go on and on and on about how sweet these two are, but most of you who are reading this blog probably know them; and it is impossible to know them and not absolutely adore them. So I’ll spare you the intro so you can get to their pictures:)

Alex and Joe, it was an absolute pleasure being with you guys on your big day. I am so excited for the two of you as you start your new life together as husband and wife! I wish you both nothing but the absolute best!

Joel + Michelle

So I was more than a little excited about this session… for a couple of reasons: (1) I absolutely love Joel and Michelle. They are hilarious, and I knew that picture day would be no exception (spoiler alert: I was right), and (2) I could finally convince Blake to come with me and carry all of my stuff. Come to find out, it’s super handy having an extra pair of hands around.
Joel and Michelle brought their dogs out for the first little bit of the session. Michelle is full of fun ideas, one of which led to what might be my favorite “series” of pictures that I have taken to date. Mostly because Joel and Michelle are super-adorable, but also because I always love a good disney reference:)
Sometimes taking pictures is such hard work that you just have to take a break and dance, or so I’ve learned.
Can I just take a second to point out how absolutely gorgeous this girl is? If I didn’t know both of them I would say “Joel is a lucky man”… but I think that is totally unfair because I think they are both pretty darn lucky. And precious.
Joel and Michelle, as always, it was an absolute pleasure spending the afternoon with you guys. Next time I’ll skip the wine afterwards so I can stay awake through dinner. Ha!

Jordan + Justin

Anytime I get an email about an engagement session I get excited. When it’s from someone I know, I get even MORE excited! This gorgeous girl and I went to high school together. There were actually a few years we cheered together. She is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside–and I was absolutely thrilled when she asked me to take her engagement pictures!
I could go on and on about Jordan, but I must tell you that Justin was such a good sport for these. Let’s face it–guys don’t love taking pictures. But Justin didn’t even act a little annoyed, or go on and on about how much Jordan owes him. I was amazed. It’s not every day you catch a guy who will tolerate pictures as well as he did. So because of that alone I knew I liked him! Before I show you their gorgeous pictures, I want to get a little personal with you guys. Up until their session I was having (what I refer to) as a photographer identity crisis. I was so concerned with being a “professional”, that I forgot to be myself… I was so caught up on posing people just right that I forgot to just let them be. I guess I had forgotten how absolutely magical natural chemistry can be… I was so concerned with having all the right equipment, newest editing software, etc. so that I could be like all of the other “professional” photographers. But then I realized that it’s not the $2000 lens and newest photoshop actions that make them a “professional” photographer. I guess you could say I’m a little slow;)

So this weekend I got back to my roots–back to what made me go into photography in the first place. I love people. I love chemistry. I love the natural beauty that you can find down a dirt road in the middle of nowhere, if you just look hard enough. I love giving my clients a low-pressure, fun atmosphere where we spend more time laughing at ourselves (and my terrible jokes) than we do making serious faces at the camera.

My friends, family, and clients are are so sweet to believe in me! If it weren’t for all of the love and support I get from you guys, I would’ve given all of this up a week ago when my camera quit on me… and I am so thankful that I didn’t. I am so thankful for you guys!

Alright… enough of me. Here’s what you’ve all been waiting on. I’ll let these speak for themselves:)

Meet the Edmonds Family

I am so excited to introduce you to the Edmonds family! Vince was actually my softball coach growing up, and Tracey is his sweet wife. I met with this precious family on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. Aside from battling super crazy wind, they had perfect weather for their session. If you knew my luck with weather (or anything, for that matter) you would know how shocking that was!
