You guys. I have been on pins and needles absolutely dying to share this blog with you…and that says a lot, because you know how I feel about blogging. In February I had the opportunity to fly out to Houston and stay with my sweet friend Michelle (of Michelle Able Photography) while I attended the very first Fusion Workshop–hosted by the sweet, beautiful, and insanely talented Dana Fernandez and Jenna McElroy. The entire purpose of the workshop is to help photographers learn more about film photography, and to give them the confidence and know-how to incorporate it into their business. I’ve been playing with film for a couple of months now, and it was so wonderful to be able to sit down with these ladies and pick their brains for a bit.
Now about that secret…the cat may be out of the bag already, but in case you didn’t know–I am head-over-heels in love with film. Like, I could talk about it all day. I’ve slowly but surely been incorporating it into my weddings and engagement sessions, and I can’t wait for the day where I feel confident enough to call myself a “film photographer”. If my husband were to read this (which, I’m 99% sure he won’t–so I feel totally comfortable saying this), he would give me a nice long lecture about confidence and how I don’t give myself enough credit. But since he’s not here to say it, I’ll be real with you guys. Film is beautiful, but it is sometimes terrifying. So I’m inching my way into this beautiful area of photography, and I can’t wait to share more with you guys. In the meantime, grab a cup of coffee and take a peek at this gorgeous styled shoot I was able to photograph while at the Fusion Workshop (you guessed it–almost entirely in film)!
